PRIMARY SCHOOL PROGRAMME

MILE POST 1 (Classes 1 & 2)

MILE POST 2 (Classes 3 & 4)

MILE POST 3 (Classes 5 & 6)

In the primary years, students work their way through IPC’s Mile Posts 1, 2 and 3.  Engaging with themes like Time Detectives, Saving the World and Building a Village, students work towards meeting each unit’s specific Learning Goals.  The Learning Goals are the foundation on which the IPC is built. The Learning Goals identify what children might be expected to know, what they might be able to do and the understandings they might develop as they move through school the Mile Posts.

There are subject, personal and international Learning Goals.  Subject goals address the skills, knowledge and understanding students will develop in each of the subject learning areas.  Personal goals focus on the individual qualities and dispositions that will equip students to be successful in the 21st century.  International goals play an integral role in the development of informed global citizens, comfortable and competent interacting and operating at an international level.
IPC units have been written taking into accout the latest research on brain friendly learning.  It gives students opportunities to learn how to learn and be aware of their own learning styles and multiple intelligences.  Students are empowered as partners in the learning process.  Clear and transparent learning goals mean that students actively participate in self-assessment and actively work towards improving their achievements.

Perhaps most important of all, is that the IPC is fun! Our students enjoy and look forward to learning. The activities and learning experiences are challenging, meaningful, relevant to children and engaging; nurturing a love of learning within our students.

The IPC curriculum was chosen for its holistic foundations and high academic standards. The nature of our curriculum lends itself to self paced learning, so children can work to their own level of challenge and excellence. The IPC curriculum gives students a strong educational foundation, making a transition into IB or Cambridge programs more than possible. The standards meet or exceed those of government schools around the world, making transitions back into home countries or international programs as effortless as possible for our students
